FBN Family Visit – Managing Transitions in the Family Office

The Duchossois family graciously hosted 8 direct peer families last week in their offices.  We kicked off the event at their family office in a spectacular new building in downtown Chicago. We learned about their family and business history, the formation and transitions of their family office.  On the second day, we convened in another stunning new building - the new company headquarters.  We toured the facility and spent our time together sharing experiences and learning from one another around the challenges and solutions facing families and family offices.

Here are a couple comments about the event:

  • Excellent event.  Invaluable experience.  Host family were marvelous hosts and thanks to them for sharing their story.
  • Great topics and exercises – the format of open shared conversations/breakouts was highly effective and most appreciated.

On behalf of all the attendees, we are all thankful to have the Duchossois family in our learning community!  Their hospitality and generosity will not be forgotten!

Be on the lookout for a series of educational blogs based on conversations and “hot topics” from the meeting.
